Who we are
AVIRENZA (โweโ, โusโ) runs the AVIRENZA project-based internship program and this website. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
What we collect
When you apply, we collect only what we need to run the program:
- Full name, gender and country
- Email address and WhatsApp number
- Highest qualification, current year of education and college/university name
- Your chosen internship domain and how you heard about us
While you take part we also store your project submission links (GitHub, optional LinkedIn), review outcomes, certificate requests and payment references. We store a pseudonymised (one-way hashed) form of your IP address to prevent spam and abuse, and essential cookies that keep you signed in to your portal.
We do not collect identity documents, and we never store card or bank details โ payments are handled by our payment provider.
How we use it
- To register your application and generate your provisional offer letter
- To give you secure access to your intern portal and assignments
- To review your project and, if you request one, issue and verify your certificate
- To send transactional emails about your application, review and certificate
- To protect the platform against fraud, spam and misuse
The legal basis is your consent when you apply and our legitimate interest in running and securing the program.
Who can see it
Your registration details are accessible only to our authorised administrator. We use trusted service providers to operate the platform (hosting, database, email delivery and payment processing), who process data only on our instructions.
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. The public certificate verification page shows only your name, domain, certificate number, issue date and status โ never your email, phone number or college.
Cookies
We use a strictly necessary, HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in to your portal. Your light/dark appearance choice is stored in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep application records for as long as needed to run the program and verify certificates, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations. Records of issued certificates are kept so that they can continue to be verified. Expired sessions and sign-in links are invalidated automatically.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in a managed database. Sign-in tokens are stored only in hashed form, sessions expire automatically, and access to candidate data is restricted to the authorised administrator.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw your consent, by contacting avirenza1@gmail.com. Please include your application reference. Some records (for example, issued certificates or payment records) may need to be retained where required by law.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on this page.
